Because! And Im gonna show you instead of just telling you.
This is a picture of me and my Mom. She is standing at the top of the cliff that she threw me off some 55 plus years ago. And she knew what she was doing at the time. She knew that bringing me into this world had one, and only one inevitable end, and yet she did it anyway. And now she's watching to see how I handle the whole experience. I purposely made the little drawing to a scale that would reflect me living to be about 80 years old, and it was a sobering moment. I'm about to crash into the rocks at the bottom of the cliff and there are so many things I've left undone. One of them is a repeat visit to Penticton. That whole experience, the training, the blogging, the vacation with Roo, and the race itself, was by far the highlight of my life and I choose to repeat it before I hit the bottom.
To take the cliff analogy a bit further, I choose to try to soar a little bit on the way down, instead of just clawing pathetically at the air and screaming "I'm gonna die" After all, I'm pretty sure Mom is still watching from "above". Hi Mom!

I love the drawing and the accompanying description - I don't think you could have said it any better.
